Wat Thammikarat is an ancient temple site in Ayutthaya with both historic ruins and active religious elements. Its most recognizable structure is a bell-shaped chedi encircled by stucco lion figures, while remains of assembly halls and Buddha images reflect different periods of construction and restoration within the former capital.
Because Wat Thammikarat continues to have religious importance, visitors should dress modestly and behave quietly around worshippers and sacred images. Ruined masonry and decorative stucco are fragile; climbing or leaning on them causes damage and should be avoided. The site is exposed to heat and rain, so water, sun protection and secure footwear are useful. Current access arrangements should be confirmed locally during restoration or religious events.
