Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, optional mobile number, and account credentials. We also store places you save and information you submit through our contact form. Our servers may record basic technical information such as request time, page, browser, IP address, and error details for security and reliability. We record when you accept the Terms of Use and acknowledge this policy, together with the versions presented to you.
How we use information
We use this information to operate your account, provide saved-place features, respond to enquiries, send essential account emails, document your agreement to our terms, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve TripScraper. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
TripScraper uses an essential authentication cookie to keep you signed in. We store your optional analytics choice in your browser for up to 180 days. Google Analytics is not loaded unless you accept analytics cookies. You can reject analytics without affecting trip planning and change your choice using Cookie preferences in the footer.
Optional Google Analytics
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, public destination pages, and successful actions such as registrations, trip creation, adding stops, and enabling trip sharing. Google may process browser/device information, approximate location, referral source, and cookie identifiers to provide these reports. Our explicit analytics events do not include your name, email, passwords, trip names, notes, private trip IDs, sharing tokens, or URL query parameters. Private itinerary pages are reported under generic page names. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled.
Google processes analytics data under its privacy policy. Rejecting analytics stops further collection and clears the Google Analytics cookies accessible to this website; it does not delete data already received by Google. Your choice is specific to this browser and can be changed at any time.
Google Sign-In
If you choose Continue with Google, Google provides TripScraper with your verified email address, name, and a stable account identifier. We use this information only to create, link, and authenticate your TripScraper account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not store the Google identity token used during sign-in. Google handles this authentication under its privacy policy.
Service providers and links
We may use hosting, email, database, analytics, and travel-booking providers to operate the service. External travel websites have their own privacy practices, and TripScraper is not responsible for those practices.
Interactive maps and route estimates
TripScraper uses OpenStreetMap data, OpenStreetMap Foundation map tiles, and an OpenStreetMap-based routing service. When a map loads or travel estimates are calculated, your browser connects directly to the relevant service. The service may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, the referring page, displayed map area, and the stored coordinates needed to calculate routes between itinerary stops. TripScraper does not use these requests to determine your device's current location. The OpenStreetMap Foundation handles information under its privacy policy. The current routing service is operated by FOSSGIS and is identified on its service page.
Retention and security
We retain account information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for security, legal, and operational purposes. We use technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your account information. Send the request through our contact page using the email address associated with your account so that we can verify the request.
