Vijay Stambh, also known as Victory Tower, is a magnificent monument that stands tall within the Chittorgarh Fort, the largest fort in India.
Built by Rana Kumbha, the king of Mewar, in the 15th century to commemorate his victory over invaders, the tower is a lasting symbol of Rajput courage and glory.
Standing at an impressive 37 meters (121 feet) with nine stories, Vijay Stambh is visible from almost anywhere in the town below. The exterior walls are adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures depicting Hindu gods and goddesses.
While climbing the 157 stairs to the top is currently not allowed for visitors, the intricate details on the exterior and the panoramic views it once offered are a testament to the architectural marvel it is.
