Kolanu Bharathi Saraswathi Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Saraswati, located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of the three Saraswati temples in India, the other two being in Kashmir and Telangana. The temple is situated in the Nallamalla forest range, on the banks of the Charugomati River.
The temple is believed to have been built in the 15th century by the Vijayanagara king Krishnadevaraya. The temple complex consists of a garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum), an antarala (antechamber), and a mukhamandapa (pillared hall). The sanctum sanctorum houses the idol of Saraswati, which is made of black stone. The goddess is depicted seated in padmasana (lotus pose) with four hands. She holds a veena (lute) in her upper left hand, a rosary in her upper right hand, a book in her lower left hand, and a pot of water in her lower right hand.
The temple is a popular pilgrimage site, especially during the Vasant Panchami festival, which is celebrated in the month of February or March. On this day, thousands of devotees visit the temple to offer prayers to the goddess Saraswati.
The temple is also a popular tourist destination, known for its scenic beauty and its historical significance. The Nallamalla forest range is home to a variety of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, and elephants. The temple is also located near the Sangameswaram temple, which is another popular pilgrimage site.
