Congregation Ezra Bessaroth is an Orthodox Sephardic synagogue located in the Seward Park neighborhood of Seattle, Washington.It is one of two Sephardic congregations in Seattle, the other being Sephardic Bikur Holim Congregation.
History
Congregation Ezra Bessaroth was founded in 1914 by Jewish immigrants from the island of Rhodes, which was then part of the Ottoman Empire.The congregation maintains the liturgy and customs of Rhodes.
Location
The synagogue is located at 5412 Wilson Avenue South, in the Seward Park neighborhood of Seattle.
Architecture
The synagogue building was completed in 1958. It is a modest building with a simple design. The sanctuary is located on the second floor and is decorated with a stained glass window.
