Inwa, also called Ava, is an ancient royal capital in Myanmar's Mandalay Region. Successive Burmese kingdoms used the city as a seat of power between the fourteenth and nineteenth centuries, leaving a landscape of monastery remains, stupas, walls and other structures among fields and villages.
